  • Weapons questions, pierce, damage, etc

Could someone clarify pierce and damage? Which is more desirable when choosing trinkets to equip?
Also, Does a melee weapon like a sword also have pierce, meaning it only cuts the first few bloons that comes into contact, even though the animation draws an arc through all the bloons surrounding the character?

Pierce is how many bloons can be hit at once. Damage is how many layers are popped when you hit. So lets say you have 4 pierce and 1 damage. In that example you could pop 4 red bloons in 1 attack, but if you say attacked a single blue bloon it would only get reduced to a red bloon.

Pierce is how many bloons a projectile can hit before disappearing. When the projectile hits the bloon, the amount of damage is subtracted from the bloons' health. Which is more desirable depends on how you play. I prefer damage, but you may prefer pierce. As of your third question, I would assume not, because I do not see how pierce could fit into the physics of a sword.
I needed a new signature and profile picture because the bloonchipper is not in the game anymore. The new tower:

It’s a corrosive glue gunning layer stripping road spiking buff giving MOAB exploding transforming bloon shrinking tower dependent fairly cheap banana farm. It's... The Alchemist!

RIP Bloonchipper. You were a good tower

How does super monkey's upgrades work? Say give the weapons Dragon Fangs, does that add to the 13k money sungod damage? And if so what is the stats on sungod ray by default?

The game should definitely have some sort of in-game wiki detailing how exactly the upgrades work, the default stats of characters, the bloons stats and abilities and some key concepts they assumed we knew. Somewhat the same way as the older games had.. Like, instead of saying "increases damage/pierce" it should say "increases damage/pierce by X/Y", and so on. Even today I still don't know what most of jake's upgrades do, besides adding attack animations. Do they increase speed? Do they increase pierce/damage? What do they do?

The number of pierce is how many bloons a single projectile can attack +1. So 0 pierce or N/A pierce means the projectile can only hit 1 bloon. One pierce means the projectile can hit 2 bloons and so on. 4 Pierce does not mean up to 4 bloons, but up to 5 bloons. The number of damage is exactly how many layers the attack will pop, or damage on blimps.

So there's no point in giving Finn, Jake, or other melee characters +pierce trinkets, right? But then do Finn's "Swordplayer" and "Swordmaster" upgrades do nothing?

All characters have limited pierce. But pierce in general is never my priority. My main priority is Damage and Speed. There are a few things that seems to have practically unlimited pierce though, like Supermonkey's Plasma Whips and the MOAP ability. Commander Cassie is one of the two characters that always has low pierce no matter what. I've once increased her pierce by 9 with trinkets and there was absolutely no difference against grouped Bloons than without any pierce boosting trinkets.

Apologies for jumping in here, but I'm too new to make new threads

PB's Unwavering Loyalty says it buffs allies - do they mean anyone on her team, or Allies like Banana Guards? And if it's the latter, is it only her allies?

It's just that Regal Presence says Characters, but Loyalty says allies with a small a.

                    Thanks!

It should affect everyone in her range, except her I believe. I wish they had a stat page you could click on, maybe with the upgrade paths in game

I'm late to this, but I don't know how to activate abilities found on weapons or trinkets. Does anyone know how?

New York Jets Vs New York Giants

Everything you need to know about the Giants’ preseason opener against the Jets tonight:
Fifty years after they first played each other in a preseason game, this is just the third time the Giants and Jets have met in a preseason opener. They also did so in 1983 and 2010, the latter in the first NFL game in MetLife Stadium. This will be the 51st consecutive summer in which the Giants and Jets will meet since the series began in 1969. The Giants have won the three previous preseason meetings, including 22-16 last year.
Pat Shurmur did not disclose who will and will not play on Thursday night, but did say that “a few guys that are healthy and have been practicing may not play.” Does that mean Eli Manning? “We’ll let that all reveal itself,” said Shurmur, who rested the quarterback in the second and fourth preseason games last year. Running back Saquon Barkley played only the preseason opener as a rookie.
One player who will for sure see the field, Shurmur said, is rookie quarterback Daniel Jones. He has been practicing with the second team, followed by Alex Tanney and Kyle Lauletta. “I’m excited,” said Jones, the sixth overall draft choice. “I think it’ll be a whole lot of fun to just run out there for the first time and kind of be part of the scene, be part of an NFL football game. So, I’m excited, I’m looking forward to getting out there.”
The team will release a “did not play” list later tonight, but the following players have missed time or were limited this week in practice: WR Darius Slayton (hamstring), CB Sam Beal (hamstring), OT Brian Mihalik (burner), OT Chad Wheeler (back), OLB Avery Moss (hip flexor), OT George Asafo-Adjei (concussion). WR Sterling Shepard (broken thumb) and CB Grant Haley (shoulder) have been practicing while wearing a non-contact yellow pinny.
A major storyline of the preseason around the NFL is the new rule that makes offensive and defensive pass interference subject to review. Coaches can now challenge those calls outside of the final two minutes of each half. Inside of two minutes, they will be subject to a booth review. It was put to use for the first time in the Hall of Fame Game as the Broncos challenged a pass interference penalty called on their defense. The call was upheld.

There is an orange button on the game that has a sword icon. You have all abilities there.
